Vacuum is used widely in industry, and is a fundamental part of many inventions. Tinkerers often find that “moving” vacuum around is very different than pumping air or water, and it behaves very differently. In part one of this two part short course, we cover all aspects of vacuum system theory, design, and construction. You will learn about the different kinds of vaccum pumps, materials, controls, and why vacuum behaves so differently. In the second portion, the student will learn through real-world examples how to operate and maintain vacuum systems. Vacuum systems are every where from automated industrial equipment to automobiles. We have even had students from food industry and cruise ship designers and crew. This is a three day short course designed for the professional or for the students who may need to use vacuum in their careers.
